Lots of bird friends in the garden this week brought to mind this quote

“I once had a sparrow alight upon my shoulder for a moment, while I was hoeing in a village garden, and I felt that I was more distinguished by that circumstance than I should have been by any epaulet I could have worn.” Henry David Thoreau
I haven’t been lucky enough yet to have a bird alight on my shoulder, but last week while weeding, a little blackbird hopped close enough to touch – I was enchanted. Do you have wonderful garden quotes that will inspire us to go into the garden? I really enjoy discovering new authors and so often when I’m reading a writer that is passionate about gardening I find myself thinking “oh, that is just how I feel”. It is nice to have good company in the garden!
